HISTORY

Tsotne Mirtskhulava Water Management Institute of the Georgian Technical University is one of the oldest Scientific-Research Organizations not only in Georgia, but in all South Caucasus, existing in the field of Water Management and Irrigation. It was established in 1925, and officially registered in 1929 as the Scientific-Research Institute of Water Management in Transcaucasia. >>

 

Directors

Since its establishment till 1947, the Institute was managed by the following directors: K.Mikhailov, E.Gabiev, N.Sokolovsky, D.Galilov, Sh.Bitlazar, G.Larin and P.Solod. In 1947-1968 (21 years) the Institute was managed by Prof. Michael Gagoshidze, who improved its work considerably. In 1968-2005 (38 years) the Institute was managed by Acad. STAFF OF INSTITUTE

The institute which exists since 1929 currently holds 61 employers, from which the 54% are scien­tists, among them are: 1 – the vice president of the Georgian National Academy of Science, academi­cian-secretary and the head of the Agricultural department of the same Academy, 4 – academicians of Engineering Academy and 4 – Academy of Ecology, 6 – Scientific doctors and 16 – academic doctors, 3 – PhD students and 4 – Masters
