Laboratory of Institute
Georgian Water Management Institute, which set up in 19029, the only
research organization in the Caucasus, which main scientific
direction is water management, reclamation, protection of
environment and population from natural disaster, flood,
erosion-debris flow phenomena, landslides and other destroied impact
against measures and work out scientific recomandations. In the
field institute is only in Georgia.
Institute has unique, one the biggest hydritechnical laboratory
staffed with the appropriate equipment, with pumping station (12
unit engine and pump).
Today in institute functioning:
1. Hydrotechnical laboratory
2. Hydraulic laboratory
3. Debris flow modeling laboratory
4. River bed processes laboratory
5. Pumping station
6. Storm modeling laboratory of sea and ocean
7. Soil erosion and water resources management laboratory

Vetiveri in Institute
In 2005, duo to functioning of one of the best hydrotechnical
laboratory of World and many scientific project and research of
institute staff, institute is awarded by Swiss diploma«Century
International Quality Era Award». Byond unique laboratory in the institute are laboratories of debris
flow and eroion modeling, ground mechanic, technical reclamation,
soil and water quality research, which provide every
scientific-research and contract work produced in institute.
The current position, activity: Currently in the laboratory of institute may implemet follow
researches: 1. Modelling hydrotechnical constructions; 2. Modelling and research erosion and deformation phenomena of
rivers; 3. Research of soil erosion processes and modeling their against
constructions; 4. Research of debris flow processes and modeling their against
constructions; 5. Wave impact (abrassion processes) on the seaside research and
modelling; 6. To create database by results of physical samples implemented for
evaluation of erosion-debris flow phenomena and stability of hydro
knot and coastal protection measures, which is necessary to create
expensive simulation models; 7. Chosing of coastal protection constructions for sea, reservoirs
and rivers witj research in wave canals and space pool, where is
possible modeling constructions real scale; 8. Modeling of washing-acumulation of sea and reservoirs coastal
processes; 9. Modeling of ports; 10. Modeling of watershed knot; 11. Testing of recultivation biotechnical method for oil pollution
soils by use new peat ameliorates; 12. Establish the main parameters of water and soil-ground.
